The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has laughed at President Muhammadu Buhari following his visit to Aba, Abia State.
EBONYI DAILY NEWS understands that Buhari was in Aba on Tuesday as part of his nationwide campaign for the February 16 presidential election.
While reacting to Buhari’s visit, the IPOB leader said Aba people have rejected him (Buhari).
In a tweet on his twitter handle, Kanu posted photos showing half empty Enyimba Stadium, where Buhari’s rally took place.
“The atmosphere at the Enyimba Stadium Aba yesterday said it all,” Kanu wrote.
“The people of Enyimba rejected the Sudanese fraud Jubril, parading as @NGRPresident.
“At the directive of #IPOB Biafraland will be locked down on Biafra Referendum Day scheduled for February 16, 2019.”
IPOB had on Tuesday ordered a sit-at-home during President Buhari’s visit to the commercial city.
Kanu had recently left Israel for the UK to make some diplomatic moves to finalize plans to boycott Nigeria’s presidential elections.
IPOB announced that Biafra referendum will hold on February 16th, the same day as Nigeria’s presidential election.
Since Nnamdi Kanu resurfaced in 2018 after the Nigerian government proscribed IPOB, he has been s agitating for the Southeast’s secession from Nigeria to form its own country Biafra.
